Day 3 in Ninawachi

This morning was very different than yesterday ! It was pouring rain :), no sun !

We had devotions and prayer in the hut and then headed for breakfast for a typical Ecuadorian dish : "Trigilo". It was made with plantain bananas. We also had sliced snake said Mr Berry. (the pink thing in the middle) (that was a joke)

And then another morning of work around Ninawachi. The chicken coop has now a roof, the poles are their way to their beautiful remodeling and the cleaning went on.

One team has been assigned to the prayer hut to remove the old poles. It was fun to experience the chainsaw :)
And we had some experts working on moving the electric lines also !
The team had a big surprise when they cut one of the pole - it was full of bats, who escaped all at once except some babies who took a little more time to get out and find another place to rest.

For lunch we had a typical dish called "Caldo de bola", a soup with a big ball in it and some meat. New for many :)

And then we went to the villages for the VBS ! Every group was assigned to another place. Here are some highlights of the afternoon !

Even a dog was listening :)

Then back to Ninawachi, dinner and Prayer Hut time (all beautiful and large now that some of us removed the old poles). We prayed and worshipped and Lillah shared her testimony about God's unchanging love, and as life brings us so many changes and failures, He is the Rock on which we always can count and He never changes.

Tomorrow is our last full day in Ninawachi and we will go to 3 others communities to love the children.
Could you pray for us and for them ? Pray that they can feel Jesus' love and that the long term work the the Ninawachi team is doing doing so faithfully and patiently bears much fruits. Thank you !

Day 2 in Ninawachi

Lots of activities for us today !

We first met at the Prayer Hut at 7am where we had a devotion and worshiped together to begin the day. Such a special time, with the peaceful noise of the jungle and the sun showing up through the banana trees. We feel God's presence in this place and it is so encouraging.

After breakfast, we have been divided into 3 groups : one is working on remodeling the poles at the entrance of the main building, another team was assigned to painting and water-pressured cleaning, and the last one into building the chicken coop :)

The after lunch it was time to head to the villages. We split into 3 teams. One village was 1 hour away, another 45mn and the last 10mn.

Here are a miscellaneous of our afternoons :

Drive further into the jungle !

And we finished the day in the Prayer Hut (after the dinner), with testimonies of Andres and Grant, and celebrating Caleb and Josh who turned 16 and 18 ! 🎉

It was a great day. The feeling to be useful helping on the campus, building relationships with the kids, marveling at God's creation, celebrating life (birthdays !!!) and glorify God through our testimonies.
Our Lord is good ! Now it's time for a good night sleep....
